YOUTH DIRECTOR – RICHMOND YACHT CLUB
Dan directs the Junior and High School Sailing Program which has expanded under his leadership to include 7 area high school sailing teams and continues to grow. Dan’s coaching and instructing focuses on a diverse fleet of boats – 420′s, Lasers, FJ’s, Opti’s and 29ers. Additional programming includes summer season week long clinics with a focus on preparing for local and national events.
Dan has also been hired privately to coach many teams such as U Penn’s women’s team and the top US female team in the World Championship in Sydney, Australia.

COACHING PHILOSOPHY
Dan has over a decade of experience as a head coach for multiple youth programs in North America. By creating an environment of fun and teamwork, it is his mission to improve and encourage youth in the sport of sailing while introducing the aspect of racing at all levels. By exposing youth to all aspects of sailing, individual skills are improved while greater interest and determination are nurtured, thereby benefiting and promoting all types of racing.
